🇨🇩 Point Zéro emerges as key battleground in eastern DR Congo fighting

Point Zéro, a village in North Kivu more than 2,500 metres above sea level, has become a major front line as fighting intensifies between AFC/M23 rebels and the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. According to The Africa Report, the village has come under repeated bombardment as both sides seek control of the strategic position.

The latest fighting is part of the wider conflict in eastern DR Congo, where AFC/M23 has continued military operations against FARDC and its allies in recent months. The report was published yesterday at 11:30 am GMT+1.
