Netanyahu on Sunday demanded a criminal investigation into the soldiers who testified in "NAZA," a Venice-winning documentary that shows how Israel used AI-powered targeting in Gaza.
In a letter to the attorney general, the military chief of staff and the head of the Shin Bet, Netanyahu asked them to identify everyone who took part and pursue charges of information security offenses, criminal defamation and harming Israel's diplomatic and security interests. He called the film a "false, misleading, and programmatic libel."
The film, directed by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, features 24 masked interviewees, mainly from intelligence units, according to the filmmakers. They describe "mass killing on an industrial scale" and say the military permitted strikes expected to kill as many as 500 civilians.
