"Before Josif Majer, the bare-headed little Jew, political commissar of the “People’s Liberation Partisan Detachment,” is brought one of the most respectable householders of the Valjevo region, otherwise the president of a village municipality, upon whom Majer pronounces the sentence: “Break both of his collarbones, saw through them, and then cut with a knife all the way to the heart and take out his heart and hand it over to me!” A sentence such as the history of the human race has never recorded, and to which we ourselves were witnesses!... Looking like a butcher of human heads, he rolls up his sleeves, takes the saw in his hands and begins the work as if he were cutting wood and not depriving a Serb, a patriot and a Christian of life in the most terrible agony. And after all, what is that Christian to him; an ordinary Goy whom he must kill so that Jewry would have one fewer enemy! Therefore, he did not pay the slightest attention to the cries of the man, so that neither earth nor heaven was a wonder."
