"...The flags and insignia of the volunteers depict St. George fighting the dragon, together with the so-called Kosovo Cross, commemorating the Battle of the Kosovo Field (in the year 1389), and the motto “With God for King and Fatherland.” This insignia already originated with the old Ljotić movement and was not altered, with consideration given to the desire to allow the principles of that movement to continue to operate within the Serbian Volunteer Corps. According to reports available to me, the ideological outlook of the Ljotić formations has been largely influenced by National Socialism and Fascism. King Peter is not recognized by these Serbs, since, in their view, he has been deprived of freedom of will by the Allies… The attitude of the Serbian Volunteer Corps as a whole is good. Some battalions have distinguished themselves not only in operations against communist bands, but also against Mihailović formations..."
