What happened with the whole NFA ordeal is that last year the GOP majority congress passed the Big Beautiful Bill which changed the tax on SBRs, SBSs, suppressors, and AOWs to $0. The 2A organizations then immediately got to work arguing that since the tax is now $0 on those things, continued enforcement of the NFA on those things (registration, tax stamps, finger printing, etc) is now no longer a valid exercise of their authority, to which the court agreed with and the DOJ has refused to appeal the case making the NFA effectively dead in the water for those items.

That being said though if in 2028 democrats take the house, senate, and white house again it's very possible they could do the exact same thing the GOP did with the big beautiful bill but instead of making the tax $0 they could make it like $1,000 and then instantly resume all of the rules again, AND make it retroactive on everything you bought between when the enforcement on those things was stopped and when the $1,000 tax gets passed.

It's so strange, as this country continues to decline we're going to start seeing wild swings every four years until this whole dumpster fire collapses under its own weight and the country balkanizes.
