Cover letter — это короткое письмо редактору журнала, которое отправляется вместе с научной статьёй при подаче на публикацию. Его цель — представить работу, объяснить её ценность и показать, почему она подходит именно этому журналу.
📎Что должно быть в cover letter
1. Обращение к редактору
Письмо обычно начинается с обращения:
Dear Editor,
или
Dear Dr. [фамилия редактора],
2. Представление статьи
В первом абзаце нужно указать:
🤩 название статьи
🤩 тип статьи (research article, review, short communication)
🤩 название журнала
Пример:
We would like to submit our manuscript entitled “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Education” for consideration for publication in your journal.
3. Краткое описание исследования
Во втором абзаце кратко объясняется:
🤩 о чём исследование
🤩 какие результаты получены
🤩 почему работа важна
Важно: 2–3 предложения, не повторяющие полностью abstract.
Пример:
This paper explores how AI tools influence personalized learning environments and examines both the opportunities and ethical challenges associated with their use in education.
4. Почему статья подходит журналу
Редактор должен понять, почему статья релевантна именно этому журналу.
Пример:
We believe that this study fits the scope of the journal as it addresses current developments in educational technologies and interdisciplinary research.
5. Заявление об оригинальности
Почти всегда добавляется стандартная фраза:

🎀 не находится на рассмотрении в другом журнале
Пример:
This manuscript is original, has not been published before, and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
6. Благодарность и подпись
В конце:
Thank you for considering our manuscript. We look forward to your response.
Затем:
