🇺🇸🤝🇬🇷⚡️Rubio in Athens today, Greek F-35 deal is being finalized, six advanced weapons on the table!

The finalization of the procurement of the fifth-generation F-35 fighters from Athens is marked by the arrival of the head of US diplomacy, Marco Rubio, in the Greek capital, the only stop on his tour of the wider region.

Given that the acquisition of 20 Greek F-35A Lightning IIs with an option for an additional 20, is expected to significantly strengthen the Greek superpower over the Aegean as strategic weapons, all eyes are now on the finalization of the agreement.

According to information, in the presence of the US Secretary of State, the relevant "letters of acquisition" that will "lock" the agreement for the F-35 are expected to be signed , while the Air Force intends to express interest in six advanced weapons: the AIM-120D AMRAAM, AIM-260 JATM and AIM-9X Sidewinder air-to-air missiles, the AGM-84 Harpoon anti-ship missile, the AGM-158 JASSM-ER long-range cruise missile and the GBU-53/B StormBreaker guided bomb.

It should be noted that the first F-35 is expected to be delivered to the Air Force in 2028, while certified systems that Athens aspires to procure cannot be ruled out being integrated into the Greek F-16 Viper.
