1️⃣ First they look at your profile
Before they read your message, they look at who you are. Research shows a profile that says clearly what you do gets twice as many messages.
❌"I am a reliable and detail-oriented freelancer available for various tasks. I deliver quality work on time."
✅"I build Telegram bots and mini apps. Node.js + Postgres. My last bot handles 400 orders a day. I can show a working demo in 5 days."
The difference is not talent. It is being clear: what you do, what you did before, how fast.
2️⃣ Then they read your message
Clients read it for a few seconds, not minutes. In those seconds they decide one thing: does this person understand my job and can they get it done.
❌"Hello sir, I am interested in this job. I have much experience. Please consider me."
✅"You need a landing page for a token launch. I built two before, here is one. I would start with the main page and send a first version by Friday. One question: do you have the text ready, or should I write it?"
Four simple steps:
• Say what THEIR job is
• Show one thing you did like it
• Say when you will finish
• Ask one question about the job
The last one matters. A question shows you actually read it.
3️⃣ What most people get wrong
Sending more proposals does not help. Research shows freelancers who apply to fewer jobs that fit them get hired 42% more often.
Three good messages beat ten copied ones.
4️⃣ Add a link that proves it
Anyone can write "5 years of experience". A link proves it in one click. Clients believe what they can see much more than what you tell them.
Good links:
• GitHub for code
• Behance or Dribbble for design
• LinkedIn for your work history
• Your own website
• A Google Drive folder with your 3 best files
