You were lied to about space colonization. It would be even more disastrous than 'normal' colonization already has been.

As AI "progresses", the mask on technocrats' faces is slowly slipping as they show just how little they care for human autonomy and wild nature. They care for one thing and one thing only: serving the technoindustrial system.

AI will be awful for us, but it's only one part of the wider problem of automatization that is common to practically all post-industrial societies. Industrial society is defined by the fact that humans are gradually made irrelevant by machines.

If you don't want to be replaced, you'd better stop thinking we can just reform all these issues away.

"It would be better to dump the whole stinking system and take the consequences."

"Green" energy is but a thinly-veiled attempt to hide the fact that industrial tech is incompatible with wild nature. The purpose of a system is what it does, and what technology does is extract resources from nature, destroying it in the process.

As anti-tech revolutionaries, the least we can do is constantly remind people of this reality; sooner or later they'll have to come to terms with it.

In the afterword to his 2008 book "Technological Slavery", Теd Касzуnski points out something that is now more obvious than ever: modern society's gradual loss of self confidence.

The growth of the techno-industrial system has universally brought with it environmental catastrophe, isolation from Nature and thus - widespread mental illness.

These problems are why we're getting to the point where the idea of societal collapse is basically already mainstream.

What we have to recognize next is that it would be better to head for collapse as soon as possible than to perpetuate industrial society's encroachment upon Nature."

Detractors of anti-tech thought point out the supposed hypocrisy of using tech to spread anti-tech ideas...

... but revolutionaries have always needed to utilize the infrastructure of the system they sought to destroy.

Both leftists and rightists have historically partaken in the governmental and social structures they wanted to abolish since they offered them a chance to spread their ideology.

And since anti-techers' sole long-term goal is the destruction of technological society (not reforming it or slowing its advancement), they MUST use all available means to achieve this end - including technological means. 🌲

(Furthermore, it can be said that it is exceedingly difficult to participate in modern society without using certain technologies, and that leaving society is perhaps harder than ever. But that's besides the main point: use tech to destroy tech.)

"Three decades before AI, Ted Kaczynski rightly predicted how people - out of pragmaticism - would surrender their freedom to it.

Comfort is the killer of freedom. As technological progress continues, you'll inevitably have to make that choice between comfort and freedom; between industrial tech and wild nature.

For those who don't want to live in 1984, Fahrenheit 451 or Brave New World, the choice is easy: for the good of humanity and the whole biosphere, Nature must triumph over the technological civilization as soon as possible."

NVIDIA's latest "innovation" consists in letting you pay for an AI slop filter over your games.

This is hardly the most egregious thing the gaming industry has come up with, but it goes to show just how far they'll go to push AI: they don't care whether it improves life, or even whether it improves surrogate activities.

Technocrats only care about one thing: power. And all of their power lies solely within industrial technology.
🌲Hit where it hurts. (Rhetorically, of course.)

Needless to say, we (WF) wouldn't desire a return to the USSR. Even just 141 arrests is unacceptable, because it's infinitely more than there was in the first 200,000 years of human existence: zero.

That aside, the fact the UK, a nominally 'liberal' and 'democratic' country with no dictator and no one-party system, is so adept at controlling their citizens, goes to show Ted was right about technology. It's not ideology that guides society; technology, for better or [mostly] worse, is what shapes society. An anti-tech movement must remain entirely focused on the destruction of industrial tech if it wants to achieve real change and real freedom. 🌲
