Every so often I run into one of these esoteric “intellectual” podcasters who dismisses the 3.0 scene as a bunch of hooligans punching each other. That charge has been answered enough times, so I won’t belabor it here.
What I want to know is what these supposedly serious people are actually building.
Most of the time it is commentary. Cataloging decay. Memorizing organizations, scandals or being able to rattle off everyone who works with AIPAC, or name every Jew that ever lived, gets treated like a real accomplishment. Knowing more obscure political trivia than the next guy becomes a substitute for the only question that matters: what does any of this produce?
Does it help a young man start a business? Build brotherhood? Find a chick? Learn leadership? Become physically capable? Walk into a room and bring people together?
There is nothing wrong with understanding politics, history, or power. You should. But knowledge is a tool, not an accomplishment. I have met plenty of guys who can explain events happening 50,000 miles away and can barely build a social life five miles from their house.
Take pornography. You can spend hours mapping every Jew who works at Pornhub and the corporations behind the industry. Fine. Does knowing that make a young man stop watching it? Or is he more likely to leave it behind when he has self-respect, friends, responsibilities, and a woman he actually loves?
That is the distinction the people calling myself a “grug” and “wignat” miss. There is a difference between diagnosing the problem and treating the patient.
Politics does not suffer from a shortage of men who know what the problems are. It suffers from a shortage of men capable of building durable organizations, earning trust, exercising leadership, and standing by their convictions when doing so costs them something.
How many politicians have known exactly what their supporters wanted, said the right thing, and then folded when pressure arrived? Their problem was not a lack of information.
Knowledge matters. Knowledge without men who will act is just another form of spectator sport.
