The Soviet Object 120 or "Taran":

• Approved in 1960, a closed turret tank destroyer with the ability to penetrate tanks of the era at 3km. Armed with a 9m long 152mm rifled М-69 cannon and only 22 rounds. This tank was to also receive an autoloader to assist the crew of 4.

• The armor was thin at 30mm giving it a weight of 27t and with a V-54-105 473hp could reach speeds of 63kph.

• A 130mm cannon was also created at NII-24 which would later go on to help produced the 125mm smoothbore D-81.

January 27, 1974 – KDT-1 Rangefinder:

– The KDT-1 laser rangefinder was adopted by the Soviet Army by Order No. 018 of the USSR Minister of Defense on January 27, 1974.

• The KDT-1 was installed on the T-55A by the Omsk Transport Machine-Building Design Bureau and on the T-62 by the Ural Transport Machine-Building Design Bureau, following decisions of the USSR Council of Ministers’ military-industrial commission in 1967 and 1968.

• Serial production of the T-55A with a laser rangefinder ran from 1974 to 1979.

• Installation of the KDT-1 on T-62 tanks began at Ministry of Defense repair plants in 1974.

• Initially, rangefinders were fitted to platoon commanders’ tanks, later also to line tanks.

• Firing trials showed distance measurement accuracy within 10 m at 100–4,000 m. Ammunition consumption to first hit decreased 4.5× from a halt and 2.3× on the move for HE-FRAG and HEAT rounds. For APFSDS, consumption was similar from a halt and 1.4× lower on the move.

The Soviet AT-1 SPG:

• In 1932 the problem of moving 76mm regimental guns was solved by using the chassis of the T-26 with an enclosed cabin. The real role of this vehicle was to provide infantry support rather than fulfill an artillery role, like the SU-1.

• Mounting a 76mm PS-3 cannon and 2x DP machineguns it had formidable firepower but due to the Soviets fascination with tankettes it had very thin armor. The spacious interior sported 46 rounds and could open up its sides to give more room to crews for reloading.

• The AT-1 could achieve a speed of 30km/h, with its 90hp engine and weight of 9.6t. It has an overall armor of 13mm which would make it resistant to small arms.

• Only 10 were built.

🇨🇳 The Chinese JRVG-1 SPAAG:

• The JRVG-1 is a wheeled SPAAG mounting a PJ26 automatic 76mm naval cannon. The vehicle would have Thermal, IR and laser range finders in an optional package. This vehicle seems to be targeted for export.

• Based on a ZBL-08 chassis with an additional axle due to the weight of the weapon system. Estimated to have 100 rounds of HE, APFSDS and Proxy fired at 300rpm.

• Max radar range search 20km for and 15km for tracking, 15km for missiles 12km for tracking. These ranges are hypothetical and there has been little or no news in regards to the vehicle to confirm the true range.
