Scripts are taking over the .ton domain market

Today’s auction for society.ton lasted over 13 hours — and for the first time, bidding bots made an appearance.

👁 Here’s what happened: One script was sniping bids ~5 minutes before the end, another was pushing ~30 minutes earlier. The bidding war escalated with minimal bid steps — alongside real users fighting manually.

This wasn’t just any domain: it was minted alongside names like enot.ton and rulon.ton, and the owner’s portfolio includes web3.ton, foundation.ton, durov.ton, pavel.ton, and others. Society.ton had expired, but was quickly reclaimed — unlike believers.ton, which competitors managed to hijack.

🔣The takeaway is clear: The best names are becoming scarce and expensive. Entering the market now means competing not only with people — but with bots.
