FED’S KASHKARI: U.S. ECONOMY KEEPS SURPRISING WITH ITS RESILIENCE

Fed’s Neel Kashkari says consumer spending remains strong and the labor market is broadly healthy, with economic resilience continuing to surprise him.

He said further rate hikes would put uneven pressure across the economy, with housing-related sectors already under significant strain.

Kashkari also said businesses are talking more about inflation than interest rates, while emphasizing there is “clearly not a wage-price spiral” today.
