As with Varemöhk, Frestreikka, or Metä Äijä ('Man of the Forest') was likewise the recipient of offerings at the Syytinkoukar sacrificial niche in Muurla, Finland.
Recorded tradition maintains that in the 1850s and 1860s hunters would still offer bird toes and paws of the mountain hare. At the time of my visit there were coins and flowers left there by other visitors.
