Akt-Produkt presents a new "material" release from SIC! (aka Siberian Improvisation Company): "Sissy" [akt-produkt 56].

The SIC! "material" series consists of improvisations performed in urban environments and public spaces—works released not as discs or cassettes, but as tangible objects associated with those specific environments and spaces, often collected directly during the recording process itself. In this instance, the release takes the form of sludge packaged in bags.

In the summer of 2025, SIC! (comprising Alexander Markvart, Stanislav Makovsky, and Maxim Evstropov) found themselves in Hamburg for the "Blurred Edges" festival. Following a sudden conflict with a sound engineer named Boris, the group refused to perform inside the venue (the album title is a direct quote from Boris).

The recording was made the following day during a sound walk along the Elbe River and its numerous canals. The central motif is the sound of a Soviet-era children's gusli (zither) known as "Perepelochka" (Little Quail). In the late 1980s, sound designer Bob Bielecki brought the instrument from the USSR to the USA; in 2025, he passed it on to Alexander Markvart, with whom "Perepelochka" subsequently returned to the European continent.

During the recording process, the members of SIC! spent a considerable amount of time contemplating what might serve as the tangible embodiment of their work. Ultimately, they decided to collect silt from the bottom of one of the canals that had run shallow during low tide. Thus, when you purchase this "material" release, you are buying a piece of mud hermetically sealed inside a plastic bag.

«Материальная» серия SIC! — это импровизации в городских средах и публичных пространствах, которые выпускаются не в виде дисков или кассет, а в виде ассоциированных с этими средами и пространствами вещественных объектов, часто собранных прямо в процессе записи. В данном случае это упакованная в пакеты грязь.

Летом 2025 SIC! (в составе Александра Маркварта, Станислава Маковского и Максима Евстропова) оказалась в Гамбурге на фестивале Blurred Edges, где после внезапно вспыхнувшего конфликта со звукорежиссёром по имени Boris отказалась играть внутри заведения (название альбома — изречение Бориса).

Запись была сделана на следующий день во время звуковой прогулки вдоль Эльбы и её многочисленных каналов. Лейтмотивом выступает звук советских детских гуслей «Перепёлочка» (в конце 80-х их привёз из СССР в США саунд-дизайнер Боб Билецки, и в 2025 передал их Александру Маркварту, с которым «Перепёлочка» и вернулась на континент).

В процессе записи участники SIC! долго размышляли о том, что могло бы стать её вещественным выражением, и в итоге решили собрать ил со дна одного из обмелевших во время отлива каналов. Таким образом, приобретая «материальный» релиз, вы покупаете запаянный в герметичный пакет кусочек грязи.
