2. Two National Standards for Data Asset Management Officially Released (July 20)



China's National Standardization Administration has officially issued two national standards:

• Asset Management. Data Asset Classification and Codes (GB/T 47949-2026) • Asset Management. Data Asset Registration Guidelines (GB/T 47950-2026)

The standards were drafted under the organization of the Ministry of Finance. They classify data assets into three categories: structured, semi structured, and unstructured data, with 16 detailed subcategories. They also establish standardized procedures for initial registration, updates, and deregistration of data assets.

The release marks China's transition from pilot programs to nationwide implementation of standardized data asset management. It also provides practical guidance for integrating data assets into enterprise asset management and digital information systems.
