He therefore stands among the unknown heroes of this world, the White men whose inventions revolutionized our lives and deserve much more recognition.

My logic for translating ὁμόφυλος here as "racial stock" is that the LSJ defines it primarily as "A. of the same race or stock..." and unfortunately in English, "stock" when applied to physical origins does not have the same power and interpretability it used to have. The closer meaning to the text is racial stock.

Pope St. Felix seems to be making a continuous chain of what Christ is. Christ is (a) of the same kind/origin—technically could be translated same race but not really his point, (b) of the same racial stock, asserting Adamic universality and (c) of the same essence, asserting his human nature.

Later on, Pope St. Felix uses the word συγγενὴς to describe Christ's relationship to us. You could technically produce a very poor translation of it as "family" or "cousin" or "relative" but none of these are very close to what Pope St. Felix is actually saying. The LSJ also translates it as primarily kinsman, so I do here too.
