Statement issued by Hezbollah on the third anniversary of the Al-Aqsa Flood:

Three consecutive years have passed in the history of the region, yet the debate has not been settled over the narratives surrounding the Al-Aqsa Flood, which shook the world on October 7, 2023, and reminded it of the Palestinian cause, which the arrogant powers and those complicit with them had made strenuous efforts over the years to suppress and consign to the cave of oblivion and the corridors of compromise.

Those who understand the justifications and motives behind the Flood ultimately conclude, through a series of arguments and evidence, that the Flood was a courageous, qualitative, natural, justified, and legitimate act of resistance, in proportion to the scale of the injustice and erasure that threatened to dissolve Palestine and its people.

Thus, the Al-Aqsa Flood was a major shock whose consequences should be measured by the standards of values and laws and by the extent of its impact on politics, rather than by the standards of power, superiority, and the excessive use of violence, even to the point of exterminating women and children, as the Zionist enemy did in Gaza.

Although the peoples of the world rose up and demonstrated in support of the human values and rights brought to the fore by the Palestinian cause through the Al-Aqsa Flood, with capitals and universities across the West filled with marches condemning and denouncing genocide and crimes against humanity, the region surrounding Palestine was thrown into confusion by the Flood operation because it came contrary to the path of defeatist normalization toward which the regimes had been steering the region in accordance with the will of the Zionist entity and its international supporters. Three years during which the world was inundated with news and images of Zionist and American savagery and barbarism and their Western alliances have not yet resulted in a decisive outcome in the confrontation over Gaza and its political and legal future in favor of the Zionist enemy and its supporters.

Nor has the narrative of those who objected to and expressed reservations about the Flood prevailed, despite the lamentations and elegies over the ruins, destruction, and human and material losses that the Zionist enemy has inflicted without any regard for international laws or human rights.

Despite that savagery and genocide, the enemy has failed to eliminate Hamas, the resistance factions, or the people of Gaza. It has achieved neither peace nor even a temporary truce and stability.

The situation remains open to developments whose repercussions extend beyond the Strip to the future of the entire region, the Palestinian cause, and international security and peace, and even beyond the falsehood of the international system and its claims of protecting human rights. The current ascendancy of U.S.- and Western-backed Zionist savagery over the rights of the oppressed Palestinian people is not enough to claim that international peace is moving the region toward security and stability. No security can be hoped for, nor stability relied upon, amid the squandering of peoples’ rights and the denial of their right to self-determination. Three years have passed since the Al-Aqsa Flood, and the surging wave continues to threaten the deniers and tyrants with drowning and disappointment, despite all the tactical successes they have achieved. They will remain incapable, indeed paralyzed, from exploiting them to establish a stable strategic situation in their favor. This is due to the resilience and determination of the Resistance and the faith of its people in the justness and legitimacy of their cause, which is worthy of every challenge and sacrifice. The Al-Aqsa Flood revealed the greatness of the Palestinian people, the strength of their will, and the steadfastness of their resilience in confronting the Israeli killing machine. It exposed the true face of the Zionist entity, characterized by racism and savagery, and behind it, the American enemy and the forces of global arrogance.

It also exposed the falsehood of the international community and its institutions’ claims of defending freedom and justice and revealed their inability to protect even the most basic human rights. It also lifted the veil from those who shirked their responsibilities and those complicit who chose silence in the face of the most heinous crimes, massacres, and genocide against a people that chose to resist its occupier and struggle for its freedom and dignity and to reclaim its land and rights. Hezbollah in Lebanon, which remains committed to the belief in the justice of the Palestinian cause and does not hesitate to support its resisting and oppressed people, renews its unequivocal condemnation of the blatant Zionist genocide that exposes the falsehood of all the purported values of the international community.

It holds the American administration and the Western states that remain silent in condemning the crimes of the Zionists accountable, whether those involving genocide or crimes against humanity. It also calls on the peoples of the world to rise up to protect human rights, uphold justice, and prevent the powerful from controlling international law and its application.

As we beseech Allah Almighty to accept the sacrifices of the leaders, mujahideen, and heroic martyrs of Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and all other resistance factions, and to help our people in Gaza, the West Bank, and all of Palestine remain patient and united in their position in order to thwart the objectives of the project targeting the Palestinian cause and all its people, we extend our support to all these resistance factions to remain steadfast and united around their vision and position against the enemy’s project, its supporters, and those complicit with it.

We also warn the rulers of the region that silence, appeasement, and flattering the enemy and its allies will only lead to the erosion of their authority, weaken them, and enable the enemy to determine the future of their countries and peoples.

Circumstances are not immutable destinies beyond change, and the will of peoples, when they make effective use of the forces of transformation, remains capable of shaping the present and creating the future.

“Those who have wronged will soon know what end they will return to, and the outcome is for the God-conscious.” [Holy Qur'an - Surat Ash-Shu'ara, 26:227]
