🇬🇧🐯Man killed by tiger after entering enclosure at UK wildlife park

A man has died after entering a tiger enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park near Doncaster, northern England, South Yorkshire Police said.

Footage circulating online appears to show the moments before the attack. In it, the man asks a couple to take a few photos of him with the tiger in the background. He then asks for one more and appears to head toward the enclosure.

Police received reports at 1:35pm on Saturday, 10 October, that a man had entered the park's Amur tiger reserve. The tiger attacked him, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Other videos appear to show the man being pawed at and grappled by the tiger inside the enclosure.

The tiger was not harmed and remained in its enclosure. The park was evacuated and stayed closed on Sunday, and its management says it is working with the authorities to establish what happened.

Police have not confirmed how or why the man got in.

ℹ️Witnesses told local media the man, believed to be in his 20s, was behaving unusually before the attack. Some said he had been dancing with earphones in and appeared to want to play with the tiger, and one said he seemed to be autistic and was using sign language to communicate with the animal. Others described him as agitated when he jumped in. None of this has been confirmed, and police have not named him or commented on his state of mind.
