Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, in today's Sept 21 anniversary speech, on the Saudi claim to Mecca:

"We do not consider Mecca a Saudi emirate. We consider it a sacred site for all Muslims equally."

Then the history the royal title buries: the Saudis did not inherit Mecca, they conquered it. In 1924 Ibn Saud's Ikhwan stormed Taif and massacred its residents -- women and children included -- then took Mecca, ending Hashemite custodianship of the holy sites.

Al-Houthi's charge is that the genocide runs from that day to this:

"Since his emergence and his occupation of Mecca, he has committed in Mecca the most horrific crimes, and these are historical facts. ... Three thousand unarmed pilgrims, whom he completely exterminated -- from Yemen, from the Yemeni people -- and this Saudi still bears responsibility for it."

"And despite that, he is the one who handed the kiswa of the Kaaba to the criminal Jewish infidel Jeffrey Epstein, to make part of the kiswa a carpet trodden under his shoes, and part of it an object of desecration in his satanic rituals."
