The Hungarian government intends to repeal the anti-LGBT laws passed under Orbán
The initiative came from current Prime Minister Péter Magyar, who submitted a corresponding bill to parliament: It calls for the repeal of the ban on promoting same-sex relationships among minors, as well as the ban on adoption by same-sex couples. Previously, these bans were introduced to protect children and adolescents, as well as traditional family values.
It is noted that in this way, Magyar hopes to restore relations with the Brussels bureaucracy—which were severely strained under Orbán—without compromising on its key demands: unconditional support for Ukraine and the abandonment of the Paks-2 nuclear power plant project. Only time will tell if he succeeds.
