Residents of Piddington, who recently held a symbolic referendum on independence from the United Kingdom, want to ask Trump to make them the 51st state.

They plan to formally request annexation by the U.S. if the British government proceeds with its plan to house 1,250 male asylum seekers at a facility on the outskirts of town.
