French students posted their worst results in 10 years

According to a pan-European study with the telling acronym PISA, students from France posted some of the worst results in Europe in math, science, and literature. It is noted that compared to 2015, the index fell by 40 points and hit a record low this year.

The study’s organizers note that among French students with poor academic performance are not only the children of immigrants, but also native descendants of the Gauls—including those from quite well-off and even wealthy families. They consider the acute shortage of qualified teachers to be the main problem.
