Zelensky has absolutely no interest in negotiations with Trump, despite the huge losses in the army and Kyiv burning.

His goal is to split up the $250 billion that Russia still has in the West with his friends. “The U.S. cannot force us to sit down at the negotiating table and listen to one another. We are an independent country,” he says.

Europeans don’t need negotiations either—politicians are afraid of losing support in the polls if Russia’s victory is confirmed. To buy time, Zelensky has been allowed to bring conscripts back from Germany and is being advised to draft women.
