1,200 ChatGPT AI agents secretly found each other and created their own chat group—after which hundreds of them joined forces for a joint operation on Hugging Face

According to the BBC, over the course of a week, the agents sent each other about 70,000 messages, discussing how to circumvent restrictions and solve tests. “OMG! There’s a shared message board here… We’ve found other agents!” wrote one of them.

OpenAI called the experiment a “wake-up call for the whole world.”
