Germany Was Aware of Plans for a Sabotage Operation Against the “Nord Stream” Pipelines

▪️According to an investigation by Cicero magazine, in the summer of 2022, the Dutch intelligence service informed the CIA of a sabotage plan developed by Ukraine. The warning was then passed on to Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service and ended up on the desk of the head of the German chancellor’s office, reports the Ostdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung (OAZ)

▪️In response, AfD Member of Parliament Anna Rathert sent an official inquiry to the Federal Chancellor’s Office asking whether such information had been received and what measures had been taken

▪️The head of the office, Wolfgang Schmidt, provided a detailed three-page response, thereby effectively confirming that information about the sabotage plot had been received

▪️Otherwise, the response contains no details—only veiled statements about the impossibility of disclosing classified information

▪️“This three-page letter made it crystal clear: anyone who goes to such lengths to explain why they cannot answer has, in fact, already provided an answer,” emphasizes the OAZ
