A Swedish citizen was detained in the Pskov region for illegally crossing the Russian border, according to the FSB.

According to the agency, he participated in combat operations on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and was planning terrorist attacks on Russian military facilities.

The detainee served under contract as the commander of an unmanned aerial vehicle unit in the 24th Separate Assault Battalion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to the FSB, he entered Russia under the pretext of intending to join the Russian military.

A criminal case has been opened against him for illegally crossing the border. The possibility of opening cases under articles related to participation in a terrorist organization and mercenary activities is also being considered.
