Azerbaijan is enforcing a ban on Islamic headscarves in schools. Headscarf-wearing students have been sent home, and parents have been warned via mass phone calls across Baku. At School No. 69, students protested with the slogan "Hijabs are not an obstacle to education" and refused to attend classes in solidarity with their hijab-wearing classmates.
