🌏 Chinese Ship Surveys in Japan’s Waters More Than Double

Unauthorized Chinese maritime surveys in Japan’s exclusive economic zone rose to 14 cases by October 2026, up from six in all of 2025, according to Japan’s Coast Guard. The latest incident involved the research vessel Kexue, which left the zone after repeated warnings. The increase comes amid growing maritime tensions between China, Japan and the Philippines.
