🇰🇷 South Korea to Deploy AI-Powered Robots for Military Operations

South Korea’s military plans to use AI-trained humanoid and multi-legged robots to improve operational efficiency and reduce soldiers’ exposure to dangerous missions.

According to Anadolu Agency, citing Yonhap, the country’s Ministry of Defense has launched an initiative to establish five “AI transformation hubs” nationwide to strengthen military applications of artificial intelligence.

The robots are expected to support hazardous tasks, including transporting supplies into dangerous areas, disposing of explosive ordnance, and clearing landmines. The initiative aims to reduce the need for military personnel to carry out high-risk field operations.

The program reflects South Korea’s growing focus on integrating AI and robotics into military operations.
