🇨🇳 China’s Crackdown on Northern Myanmar Telecom Fraud

A new documentary details China’s years-long crackdown on telecom fraud networks operating in northern Myanmar, with one major arrest operation reportedly lasting just 10 minutes, Global Times reports.

Chinese authorities say cooperation with Myanmar led to the arrest of more than 57,000 Chinese nationals suspected of involvement in telecom fraud and dealt a major blow to criminal networks linked to the so-called “four major families.”

The documentary also describes alleged scam compounds involving online gambling, illegal payments and serious violent crimes.
