US President Donald Trump avoided directly backing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for another term, saying he wants to focus on helping defend Israel.

Asked about opposition contender Gadi Eisenkot, Trump said he had not “heard bad things about him,” while adding: “I wouldn’t underestimate Bibi.”
