🇪🇺 EU SEEKS NATO-STYLE RESPONSE TO RUSSIAN HYBRID ATTACKS

EU defense ministers are discussing an "Emergency Security Protocol" – modeled on NATO's Article 4 – to respond to drone incursions, sabotage, and cyberattacks.

📜 European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen proposed the protocol in her State of the Union speech, framing it as Europe's own version of NATO's Article 4, which allows a member to call for allied consultations when it believes its security is threatened.

🗣️ EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas: The protocol would apply to "everything that is under the threshold of armed aggression."
