🇷🇺🇺🇸🇨🇳 Kremlin says new arms control deal will take time.

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said negotiations with Washington on arms control would require “very lengthy, meticulous” expert-level talks, meaning quick results should not be expected.

The comments follow President Donald Trump’s proposal for trilateral arms control negotiations involving the US, Russia and China after his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Moscow says any future agreement would need to address the nuclear arsenals of the major powers, while China has previously questioned the need to include its arsenal in such negotiations.

The previous US-Russia New START treaty expired in February, leaving the future framework for strategic arms control under discussion.
