Washington is confused. After months of failed negotiations, the US still doesn't know who it's dealing with in Tehran – and it's losing patience.

🗣️ On Iran's leadership: "People coming to the table can actually speak for the Ayatollah. That has been a consistent issue that has frustrated our negotiators. Who's calling the shots in Iran right now? Is it the IRGC? Is it the president? Is it the foreign minister?"

🛑 On past negotiations: "We entered into a memorandum agreement just a few months ago when it was immediately violated by attacking international shipping."

☢️ On enrichment: "We obliterated their ability to enrich at a number of facilities, but we also know they moved and dispersed highly enriched uranium. No country on Earth with a peaceful civilian program has a need to enrich to weapons grade or just short of weapons grade."
