Proof King James I had a balanced government & was not a tyrant, from his speech
In a 1616 speech he gave to England's judges (Page 555), he said "Secondly, That you keepe your felues within your owneBenches, not to inuade other Iurifdictons, which is vnfit.and an vnlawful thing; ..Befides the Courts of Common Law, there is the Court of Requefts; the Admiraltie Court, the Court of the Prefident and Councell of Walles, the Prefident and Councell of the North; High Commiffion Courts, euery Bifhop in his owne Court.
Thefe Courts ought to keepe their owne limits and boundes of their Commiffion and Inftructions, according to the ancient Prefidents: And like as I declare that my pleafure is, that euery of thefe fhall keepe their owne limits and boundes; So the Courts of Common Lawe are not to encroach vpon them, no more then it is my pleafiire that they mould encroach vpon the Common Law. And this is a thing Regall and proper to a King, to keepe euery Court within his owne bounds"(Pgs 557-558)next post has sources
