King James I believed and upheld the biblical gospel for salvation.
In his treatise "The Argument of the Epistle" about the book of Revelation, King James I wrote:
"He then by his vnfearchable Wifedome [Wisdom] incarnated his Eternal Sonne and word THE LORD IESVS, who by his death and Paffion [Passion] accomplished the faith of the Fathers; whofe [whose] Saluation was by the beleeuing in him to come, as alfo made an open and patent way of Grace to all the world thereafter"
