Language matters.
Christ didn't speak English. When He talked about turning the cheek and other familiar benevolent actions done towards "enemies", he used a very specific word that had a very specific meaning. The word that he was using was not the word for someone swinging a sword at you, or some politician trying to abduct your child into a satanic pedophile ring.
There are of course still Christian ethics that apply to even those enemies, but they are far more intricate and nuanced than just gay modernist nondenom Christian pacifism.
