There are two main types of wallets:
1. Custodial wallets, where the funds of all users are essentially stored with a third party — the organization that allows you to manage your assets.
2. Non-custodial wallets, where the money is stored directly on your personal address: only you have the secret phrase that grants access to them.
⚫️ Today, let's look at how to create a non-custodial wallet. For this, we recommend MyTonWallet, which we've written about several times. You can download the app for your phone, a Chrome browser extension, or a desktop application — it's your choice. Ideally, try all three.
⚫️ Creating a wallet is very simple — launch the app and press the «Add Wallet» button, then «Create Wallet». The next stage is the most crucial.
⚫️ The app will generate 24 words — this is your secret (seed) phrase. Never show it to anyone and under no circumstances enter it on third-party sites, as whoever possesses this phrase has full access to the funds in your wallet.
⚫️ Moreover, the secret phrase cannot be recovered, so make sure you have written it in a secure place, ideally on paper in several copies.
⚫️ Again, NEVER ENTER YOUR SEED PHRASE ON THIRD-PARTY PLATFORMS. This is what scammers or fraudulent sites will most often ask for. NEV-ER. Thousands of dollars have already been stolen from trusting users — don't be one of them.
