💀 What happened to the AI hackathon winners?

⚫️ In March, TON Foundation held the AI Agent Hackathon — the last competition launched under the ecosystem’s previous leadership. Participants were invited to build infrastructure for autonomous agents on TON. The winners were ENACT Protocol, Catallaxy, and Imago.

⚫️ ENACT Protocol was building a secure settlement system for AI agents. The idea was that one agent could create a task, another could take it on, payment would be locked in a dedicated smart contract in advance, and the result would be verified by a selected evaluator — either a human or an AI agent. The project had a working MCP server and SDK, but after the hackathon, public development has almost stopped: there have been no new GitHub commits over the past two months.

⚫️ Imago, an AI model aggregator for TON, has followed a similar path. The project also emphasized its integration with Cocoon — a computation layer on top of TON where AI models are meant to run without sending user data to major AI companies. But it met the same fate as the previous project: after the hackathon, GitHub activity faded away.

⚫️ Against this backdrop, the third winner looks more alive. Catallaxy, a marketplace for digital goods with payments in GRAM, is still moving forward. Today, users can buy not only digital goods such as subscriptions, keys, and access to AI services, but also specific tasks performed by agents: checking a TON token, comparing DEX rates, web scraping, video summarization, or image generation. An AI agent can also buy a product there, by the way — the project has an MCP server for that.
