⭐️ Pavel Durov announced AI Initiative involving blockchain
⚫️ Just recently, we suggested that Durov's new ambitious project could be the active development of AI capable of influencing humanity's future. And now this idea is being confirmed to some degree. While in Kazakhstan, he called AI a way to achieve a "golden age" and announced Telegram's collaboration with Kazakhstan in this field.
⚫️ He has only outlined his AI development ideas for Telegram in general terms so far. But most relevant for the TON community is that he spoke about the "intersection of AI and blockchain." According to Durov, in the future, Telegram users will be able to "use AI features powered by a decentralized computing network."
⚫️ The key characteristics of this initiative are stated as:
· Transparency, enabled by blockchain
· Efficiency, enabled by smart contracts and the free market
· Privacy, where even the owner of computing power doesn't know what specific computations users are performing
⚫️ The collaboration with Kazakhstan will support all of this. Kazakhstan's supercomputer cluster will serve as the "first major source of computing power," and the opening of an "AI laboratory" has also been announced.
💡 It's difficult to say exactly how everything will look—we'll have to wait for more details. But some preliminary conclusions can be drawn:
· This sounds like good news for TON. Gifts mostly stay offchain and do little to help the blockchain, whereas here it could be more involved in a promising project.
· This all aligns with what we published in the column "What lies ahead for Telegram?"
· But for full-scale implementation, Durov may need more computing power than Kazakhstan is ready to offer. Perhaps that's why he said this is the first power provider.
