❗️Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has issued a decree calling for simultaneous presidential and legislative elections on 11 September, 2027, according to the Wafa news agency.

The decree follows a decision by the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and repeals Decree No. 4 of 2026, which had scheduled legislative elections for 29 November, 2026.

Under the new decree, Palestinians in Jerusalem, the occupied West Bank, and the Gaza Strip are called upon to participate in free and direct elections to choose the president of the State of Palestine and members of the Palestinian Legislative Council on the same day, in accordance with the law.
