❗️Netanyahu’s former military secretary says PM’s office seeking to alter official 7 October records
Avi Gil, former military secretary to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has accused the premier of giving an incomplete account of events surrounding 7 October 2023 and claimed Netanyahu’s chief of staff sought to alter an official record from that morning.
Gil made the allegations in interviews with Israel Hayom and Channel 12, saying he had remained silent in the hope of testifying before a state commission of inquiry.
"There are too many lies in the air, and the public deserves to know the truth," Gil said, adding that three years after 7 October and two years after his retirement from the Israeli military, no state commission had been established to investigate the events. He said he doubted such an inquiry would be launched.
Gil said he became suspicious of possible changes to official transcripts around two weeks into Israel’s genocide in Gaza, after noticing what he described as a "disproportionate collection of material" by Netanyahu’s associates.
