❗️Iran pursuing legal action over US attack on Minab school that killed over 120 children

Iran is pursuing national and international legal avenues to secure justice for victims of the 28 February attack on Shajareh Tayyebeh school in Minab, Deputy Minister for Human Rights Askar Jalalian said, according to IRNA.

Jalalian said the government’s legal affairs office was advancing judicial proceedings and mobilizing national resources, while Tehran is also working to raise international awareness of the attack.

Last month, a UN-mandated fact-finding mission concluded that the US may have committed war crimes in two strikes carried out on 28 February, targeting the school in Minab and a sports complex in Lamerd.

Iranian local officials put the Minab school death toll at 156, including 120 schoolchildren and 26 female teachers, while sources cited by the UN mission recorded 157 deaths, including 15 children aged six.

Jalalian said Iran also intends to preserve the attack in the country’s national history as efforts continue to pursue accountability for those killed.
