"In about two and a half years, the United States will recognize a Palestinian state encompassing all of Judea and Samaria (the West Bank), the Jordan Valley, the Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem. Every senior official in the US State Department and the National Security Council, every one of them, without exception, overwhelmingly supports such recognition.

This has not happened until now because Israel has managed to neutralize that dangerous position thanks to its very strong standing in American public opinion, and as a result has also enjoyed broad political support from both parties. But there is an iron rule in politics: the moment you lose public support, you lose political support.

Today, our standing in American public opinion is at an unprecedented low. The next president elected in about two years, whether Republican or Democrat, will move toward recognizing a Palestinian state, including advancing a UN Security Council resolution recognizing it as a full UN member state.

What Netanyahu is doing today is, in effect, knowingly helping establish a Palestinian state. Bibi will go down in history as the founder of the Palestinian state.

There are about two years until the next US elections. By then, the State of Israel must define its endgame regarding the Palestinian Authority and the territories of Judea and Samaria (the West Bank), the Jordan Valley, and the Gaza Strip.

Ignoring the problem, letting things drift, and waiting until they explode in our faces, that has been Netanyahu's pattern of conduct over the years. That is how he ignored my warnings regarding Hamas in the Gaza Strip and delayed action until it exploded in our faces on October 7.

Abu Mazen (Mahmoud Abbas) has begun a planned and calculated process that will start on November 28 with elections for the Palestinian parliament, and from there lead to a broad confrontation with Israel that will accompany us until the US presidential elections in November 2028.

We must not sit idly by. Israel's objective and endgame should be the elimination of Hamas in the Gaza Strip and the dismantling of the Palestinian Authority, including the cancellation of the Oslo Accords.

But because there is no vacuum in the world, and because Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad could seize control once the Palestinian Authority is dismantled, we must agree in advance with the international community on who will assume control and administration of Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) and the Gaza Strip.

I emphasize: I strongly oppose a return to the period of military rule and to Israeli responsibility for and administration of the daily lives of Palestinians in Nablus, Tulkarem, Rafah, Khan Yunis, and other cities.

Jordan could be the country that replaces the Palestinian Authority and manages the daily lives of Palestinians in Judea and Samaria (the West Bank), including maintaining public order through a police force. The Jordanians would not deploy an army or any force beyond the police.

Security responsibility for all of Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) would remain in the hands of the IDF (Israeli military). Security cooperation with Jordan has proven itself over decades. We share a 300-kilometer border. Aqaba borders Eilat, and the distance from the border to Beit She'an is five kilometers. The forces stationed along most of the border are Jordanian soldiers who maintain the calm.

As for Gaza, there are serious actors in the Arab world who would be willing to assume responsibility for daily life there, but that will happen only after Israel completes the task and eradicates Hamas's rule.

This is my plan and the endgame I propose for resolving the Palestinian issue. I would be pleased to hear from the leaders of all the parties and understand what solutions and proposals they have on this issue."
