❗️Sharaa reportedly considering Saudi request to deploy Syrian troops against Ansarallah in Yemen

Three US officials told US-Israeli propaganda outlet Axios on 8 October that Saudi Arabia and Syria are discussing the deployment of 10,000–20,000 Syrian troops to Yemen to support the Saudi-backed assault against Ansarallah.

According to the report, Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa is seriously considering the request, while the Trump administration and US Central Command have been consulted and do not oppose the proposal.

Axios added that units under consideration include the Syrian military's 90th and 84th Divisions, the latter reportedly including extremist foreign fighters who fought under Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).
