❗️England and Wales Greens recognize Zionism as racism and back single Palestinian state

The Green Party of England and Wales has voted to recognise Zionism as a form of racism and support the establishment of a single democratic Palestinian state with equal rights for all ethnic and religious groups.

The motion was passed at the party's conference in Brighton on Sunday, with 1,022 members voting in favour and 813 against, making the Greens the first major UK party to adopt the position.

Green Party Co-Deputy Leader Mothin Ali told Middle East Eye he strongly supported the motion, while Green MPs Carla Denyer and Adrian Ramsay criticised it.

"As defined in the motion, Zionism is an ethno-nationalist state. Zionism is resulting in ethnic cleansing, in the belief that one group of people is superior to another," Ali said.
