⭕️ Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is expected to travel to Turkiye this month for talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, marking what would be the first standalone bilateral visit to the country by a Canadian prime minister, four sources to Reuters familiar with the trip said.

According to one source, Carney and Erdogan may discuss free-trade negotiations launched on the sidelines of a NATO summit in Ankara in July, along with possible cooperation in the energy and defense sectors. Two sources said Canadian and Turkish trade ministers agreed this week to speed up the negotiations ahead of the leaders' meeting.
