❗️Iran inflation falls slightly in September for first decline in 15 months

Iran's point-to-point inflation rate fell slightly in September, declining from 84.4 percent in August to 83.8 percent, Central Bank Governor Abdolnaser Hemmati said, according to Tasnim news agency.

"Although the decrease is small, the fact that the trend of point-to-point inflation is decreasing is very important," Hemmati said, describing the decline as the first such decrease in 15 months.

The slight decline comes as the US imposes new sanctions under what Washington calls "Operation Economic Outcast", alongside a naval blockade of Iranian ports, adding further pressure on Iran's economy.
