❗️Trump posts map labeling Strait of Hormuz 'Trump Strait'

US President Donald Trump posted a map on Truth Social labeling the Strait of Hormuz "Trump Strait" shortly after The Wall Street Journal reported that he had rejected Iran's proposal for a seven-day ceasefire and expected US strikes on Iran to resume after the November midterm elections.

Trump has repeatedly floated renaming the waterway and asserted US control over it. In a previous post, he suggested calling it the "Trump Strait," while he later said he liked the idea of declaring the strait US territory and claimed Washington had "total control" over the passage.

The waterway carries a significant share of global oil shipments and has faced major disruption since the US-Israeli war on Iran began on 28 February.
